Provider Exception Types

Provider exceptions are errors or discrepancies between what offers and titles appear live on a retailer’s store and what a user has avail’d.

This data is based on a comparison between provider avails data and retail store data. 

Provider exception types include: 

  1. Avail'd - Not Live - There are two types of Avail'd - Not Live exceptions: 
  • Offers that should currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are not.
  • Titles that should currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are not. This exception type appears if no title page can be found or zero offers are live.
  1. Incorrect Rating - Offers with ratings on retailer stores that do not match the provider avail rating.
  2. Live - Not Avail'd - There are two types of Live - Not Avail'd exceptions:
  •  Offers that should not currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are.
  • Titles that should not currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are.

    4. Price Mismatch - Offers with pricing on retailer stores that do not match the provider avail pricing.

  • Expected Value - Imported Avail Data. 
  • Value Found - Data found on retail stores.  

Exception Type Examples

1. Avail'd - Not Live 

When searching Avail'd - Not Live exceptions you may see two types of exceptions: 

  • Offers that should currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are not.

This will show multiple instances. Titles with multiple instances are detailing discrepancies based on Sale type, Format, and Territory, also known as offers.

Description of exception:

Movie Title #1 has been expected to be live online for rental and purchase in HD and SD in both the United States and Canada since 2012 and 2014. But as of today, no options are available online.

  •  Titles that should currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are not. This exception type appears if no title page can be found or zero offers are live.

This will show one instance. Titles that show only one instance are detailing one discrepancy or error, which is that the title is not live or present at retail stores when it should be, based on provider avails.

Description of exception: 

Movie Title #2 has been expected to be live online per provider avail but online data shows that this title has no presence in the retail store. It cannot be found. 

 

2.  Incorrect Rating - Offers with ratings on retailer stores that do not match the provider avail rating.

3. Live - Not Avail'd 

When searching Live - Not Avail'd exceptions you may see two types of exceptions: 

  • Offers that should not currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but is.

These will show as multiple instances. Titles with multiple instances are detailing discrepancies based on Sale type, Format, Territory, or Exception reason. Sale type, Format and, Territory are also known as offers.

Description of exception:

The sale window for Movie Title #1 has ended and the title should have been taken down but it still shows as available to purchase online in Canada and the United States in both HD and SD.

  • Titles that should not currently be live on retailer stores per the provider avail, but are.

This may show as one instance. Titles that show only one instance details one discrepancy or error; which is that the title is not present in the provider avails data but is showing live on the retail store. If a title is absent in the provider avails data the only information to compare is the title’s presence.

Description of exception: 

Movie Title #2 should not show as live online in the United States, because it is missing entirely from the provider's avails data but it still does.

4. Price Mismatch - Offers with pricing on retailer stores that do not match the provider avail pricing.
