Navigating Delta Alerts

  • Updated

The delta alert is a specific feature for iTunes EMA. The delta alert gives clients the ability to ensure that when bulk updates are made via the iTunes EMA Avail, they are accurate before delivery to the platform.

If a client is signed up for Delta Alerts and one triggers for an iTunes EMA, users will get an email alert notifying the delta alert picked up a 20% or more change to a given territory.

Once the users have received the alert, users have two-ways to navigate to the page where they can manage the alert itself:

  1. Access through email
  2. Navigating the user interface

Email

The user will receive an email that will come from "no-reply@premieredigitial.net" that call out the territories that had the percentage change. The email will notify the users that a manual review is needed.

From there, users can click the "Delta Check Report" and/or click the blue link at the bottom to manage the approval or rejection of the file via SF UI:

Navigating the UI

Alternative to the email, users can go directly to the UI and manage the approval or rejection. The UI will also have a delta report to download.

To manage through the UI, users will navigate and click on the Avails Import module:

Once there, users will navigate to the blue link titled "Delta Checks" on the right-hand side:

Once clicked, a new screen will load and outline all the iTunes EMA and the status of the Delta Check.

The Delta Check table will list:

  • File - The file name with a link that allows the user to access the specific report.
  • Previous file - listing the file that preceded it. There may be times when another file is delivered if a correction is needed.
  • Status -
    • Not Required - Delta Alert did not trigger for that specific file.
    • Pending - The Delta Alert triggered.

To manage a pending alert, users will click on the blue link for the specific file.

Once the user clicks the file name, a new screen will load that will detail the following:

  • Summary Data:
    • The current file's name includes a link allowing users to download the EMA.
    • The current status of the Delta Check
    • The file of the previous EMA is compared to
    • A link to download the Delta check report
    • When the Delta check was last updated
    • Who performed the update
    • When the Delta check was created
    • Who created the delta check
    • And the rule that triggered the Delta check
  • The checks table will outline:
    • The territories that had the percentage change
    • How much of the territory changed
    • How many records/rows changed for that territory
    • and a reminder of the threshold for the alert.

Reviewing Changes

To review what actually changed in the EMA, users will need to review the delta report.

As mentioned, to download the delta report, users will click on the blue button, and the report will download directly to their machine as an .xlsx.

Once in the report, users will be able to see what was removed and what was added in its place. This way, users will be able to review whether the change was intentional or unintentional.

Once the report has been reviewed, users will be able to either APPROVE or REJECT the file for ingest. This option will appear at the bottom of the Delta Check page for that file.

  • Approval means the file will proceed as normal and all changes picked in the EMA will be delivered to platform.
  • Rejection means that ingest will not proceed, the file will be disregarded, and the client will issue a new file for upload and ingest. The new file will undergo its own Delta Check.
